Time limit extended for filing TRAN-1 & 2 by the Hon'ble SC

Recently passed judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court Judgment, whereby the filing TRAN-1 and TRAN-2 for all those cases which were left out from filing originally, whether due to system glitch or otherwise, has now been permitted for two months w.e.f. 01.09.2022 to 31.10.2022.

Further, Hon'ble Apex Court directed the assessees to file the relevant form or revise the already filed form irrespective of whether the taxpayer has filed writ petition before the High Court or whether the case of the taxpayer has been directed by Information Technology Grievance Redressal committee (ITGRC) or otherwise in the past.

After that, the proper officer will verify the veracity of claim/ transitional credit within a period of 90days and will issue appropriate order after giving opportunity to the concerned parties. Thereafter, the transitional credit is to allowed and will be reflected in the Electronic Credit Ledger.

You are requested to take note of this, and take suitable action, if any, in case if any errors / non-filing of TRAN1 took place in the past. This is an excellent opportunity to correct all such lapses, if any, committed in the past in this regard.
